I get to much spam, can myshophosting help?

SPAM has become a huge problem for online businesses but myshophosting has the solution!

Solution 1 - FREE Server Side Spam checking with Spam Assassin

Spam Assassin is an automated mail filter that uses a wide range of heuristic algorithms on mail headers and message body text to identify "SPAM" (unsolicited email). After an extensive testing period myshophosting has implemented a server wide block of all emails that recieve a spam assassin score of 17.5 or above. This eliminates approximatly 80% of all spam from getting to your inbox. This filter was enabled on 22nd November 2007 for the benifit of all myshophosting clients.

Solution 2 - Client manageable Server Side Spam Assassin

Although we filter out all emails that recieve a spam assassin score of 17.5 or above, spam emails still get through. Some clients may wish to lower the spam score thats required before an email will be automatically deleted. Using our cPanel you can enable client level Spam Assassin on your account and then set the auto delete option to the desired level.

How do I enable SpamAssassin?

SpamAssassin is turned off at a client level by default. If you would like to turn on SpamAssassin please log into the cPanel and navigate into the mail section and then click on the Spam Assassin icon...

Now click on the 'Enable SpamAssassin' button. This will enable Spam Assassin...

Now click the 'Go Back' link.

Now Spam Assassin is enabled, how to I setup the Auto-Delete feature?

myshophosting reccommends setting the Auto-Delete option to a setting of 10. Any lower than this and you will find legitimate emails being deleted.

Simply select 10 from the Score drop down box and then click the 'Auto-Delete Spam' button.

Spam Assassin and Auto-Delete should now be enabled. It is now safe to log out of the cPanel.

You should notice a decrease in the level of Spam reaching email accounts.
