No!

If you have an existing site that ranks well in search engines then we can help maintain and more than likely improve those rankings when you switch to mshShoppingCart.

There are some basic steps we must take to ensure the 'Search Engine Value' your old site pages have are not lost.

The first step is called 301 Redirects.

Lets say you have a page on your old site called: www.yoursite.com/yourpage.htm and this page is linked to by many other sites and it also ranks really well in major search engines.

Your new site might call this same page somthing like: www.yoursite.com/pages/yourpage.php

We can create what we call a '301 Redirect' which will redirect search engines and visitors to the new page when they attempt to visit the old page.

The 301 redirect goes into a file called .htaccess which resides in the /public_html folder of your  mshShoppingCart site.

A typical 301 redirect looks like this:

Redirect 301 /yourpage.htm http://www.yourpage.com.au/pages/yourpage.php

Before making your new website go live, you can provide us with a list of required 301 redirects and we can apply them in the .htaccess file for you.
We encourage you to provide us with as many as you can - Especially for ALL your parent and first level category pages and if you have the time for all your important product pages.

Once the 301 redirects are in place the search engines and visitors will automatically be directed to the new page on your site.

Should you need help with your redirects please dont hesitate to contact support.
